New Horizon College of Engineering is an Autonomous college affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) & University Grants Commission (UGC).
Eligibility : The Candidates must possess Master’s Degree recognized from the University, with a minimum CGPA OF 6.75 out of 10 or 60% aggregate marks at the Master’s Degree
Duration : 3-5 years
Department of Mechanical Engineering is a University (VTU) recognized Research Center that conducts research activity to ensure that the students are up to date to the new technologies and are in line with the requirement of current industries standards. The research work focuses on areas such as composite materials, turbo machinery, design & development of equipments, finite element analysis, heat & mass transfer and computational fluid dynamics. The department has also taken on projects on “brush seals for gas turbine engines”, “air borne wind tunnel”, “Metal forming with FDM tooling”, “Composite soluble core tooling by FDM process” , “Impact strength enhancement of ABS plastic”, “Study of mechanical properties of Aluminum 2024 based hybrid composites”, Unconventional Electricity generation” to name a few. Some of these research programs have already received grants from AICTE, Institute of Engineers INDIA and DRDO.
